Running VipMod on LDPlayer: it works, with three differences from a phone
If you'd rather play modded games on a computer, LDPlayer is the emulator we know best, because it's also what we use to test games in bulk before they go in the store. VipMod installs and runs on it without trouble. A few things are worth knowing before you start, though.
Setting it up
- Use the 64-bit LDPlayer, version 9 or later. A 32-bit edition can't open games inside VipMod, for the same reason 32-bit phones can't.
- Inside LDPlayer, open the browser, go to the download page and download VipMod. You can also download the file on your computer and drag it onto the LDPlayer window.
- Install it the same way you would on a phone. LDPlayer has no Play Protect, so nothing gets in the way.
- In LDPlayer's settings (the gear icon) → Advanced, give it at least 4 CPU cores and 4 GB of RAM if your computer can spare them. A game running in VipMod needs a little more than the same game running on its own.
Three things that work differently from a phone
1. Games run slower
LDPlayer runs Android on an Intel or AMD processor and translates each game's ARM code for that processor while the game is running. A light 2D game feels the same as it does on a phone, but a heavy 3D game can be noticeably slower. That's a limit of the emulator rather than of VipMod, since the same game outside VipMod, on the same LDPlayer, slows down just as much.
2. Airplane mode is fake
Turning on airplane mode in LDPlayer doesn't actually cut the connection, because the emulator goes through your computer's network either way. To play a game offline or keep its ads from loading, use that game's own Internet switch in VipMod instead: long-press the game's tile and turn Internet off.
3. Some games spot the emulator
A few games, mostly ones with heavy protection, look for signs of an emulator and then close themselves or show a "device not supported" message. The same game runs on a real phone, so that's where to play it. Tell us in VipMod → Support which game it was, too, so we know about it.
A few tips
- For portrait games, keep LDPlayer's resolution on the phone (portrait) layout. With LDPlayer set up like a tablet, the MOD menu ends up out of place in a lot of games.
- Don't run several LDPlayer windows with games in VipMod at the same time unless your computer has more than 16 GB of RAM.
- To move an offline game's progress between LDPlayer and your phone, use Backup & restore: long-press the game's tile → Game tweaks → Backup & restore → Back up now, tap the new backup → Export to file, then use Import from file on the other device. The backup guide walks through it in detail. For online games, just sign in to the same game account.
- LDPlayer counts as a device on your plan, just like a phone. How that works when you use more than one: one plan on several devices.
BlueStacks, NoxPlayer and MEmu
We don't support BlueStacks. We have no BlueStacks machine to test games on, so when something breaks there, we can't reproduce it or fix it. We haven't tried NoxPlayer or MEmu either, which means we can't vouch for them. And a 32-bit emulator of any brand can't open games in VipMod at all. If you want to play on a computer, LDPlayer 9 is the one to install.
