Which phones can run VipMod

The short answer: a phone on Android 7.0 or later, with a 64-bit chip and 3 GB of RAM or more, runs it comfortably. Below, each limit is explained along with what causes it, so you know which side of the line you're on before you install.

Minimum requirements

Why it has to be 64-bit

Games in VipMod run in a process the system creates for VipMod's own architecture — and VipMod is a 64-bit app. Phones with only a 32-bit chip (some budget phones from 2016–2018) can install VipMod but can't open the games inside it. On those phones, the only way to play is to install the game directly on the phone, without mods.

The reverse happens too: some games only come as a 32-bit build (older games, games from a few small studios). Even a 64-bit phone can't run them in VipMod; that game's page in the store says "Install directly on your device" instead of "Install with VipMod".

Phones with 2 GB of RAM: they work, but games often close on their own

VipMod runs each game alongside a small companion process. When a 2 GB phone runs short of memory, Android reclaims that companion process first and the game goes down with it — you see the game "close by itself" for no reason after a few minutes. To make it happen less: close every other app before playing, turn off the Internet for the game (the switch in VipMod) to cut down on syncing, and pick lighter games. On 2 GB phones, VipMod automatically leaves out part of the Google services components to save memory for the game.

Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Realme: turn off battery optimization for VipMod

These brands add their own battery manager, much more aggressive than stock Android: any app that runs in the background for a few minutes gets closed. For VipMod, that means the game you're playing gets closed when you switch apps or turn off the screen. Go to Settings → Battery → VipMod → choose Unrestricted (Xiaomi: "No restrictions"; Oppo: turn off battery optimization), and lock VipMod in the recent apps list (pull its card down or tap the padlock).

Emulators on a computer

VipMod runs on LDPlayer (Android 9, 64-bit) — that's also the kind of test machine we use for testing in bulk. Two things to know: some games run slower on an emulator than on a real phone because of the ARM translation layer, and the emulator's airplane mode is fake (it doesn't actually cut the network), so use VipMod's Internet switch if you want to play offline. BlueStacks and 32-bit emulators don't work.

Things that have nothing to do with your phone

  • A game crashes the moment it opens, on every phone — usually a game that detects virtual environments, or a mod that doesn't match the game's version yet. See the FAQ, or report it in the app.
  • The mod is on but nothing changes — not a phone problem; tell us in the app's Support which game it is.
  • Android TV, Fire TV: not supported yet. VipMod needs a touch screen.
