Two accounts in one game on the same phone: clone games with VipMod, no root

Maybe you want an alt account to farm on, or two people share one phone and each wants their own save. VipMod can run the same game more than once, side by side, each copy with its own progress and its own account. There's no root involved, and the copies know nothing about each other.

Your second account may already be on your phone

A game you install from the VipMod store is a separate copy with its own data, and the copy you got from Google Play stays on your home screen untouched. That's two accounts right there: sign the Google Play copy into one and the copy in VipMod into the other. Some store games are set up from your Google Play copy and read their files from it. If VipMod told you to keep the Play copy when you installed the game, leave it installed, because the copy in VipMod depends on it.

A third or fourth copy takes three taps

  1. Long-press the game's tile in VipMod and tap Clone in the row of small buttons.
  2. Read the short note and tap Create clone. A new tile appears with a number after the game's name, like "(2)".
  3. Open the new tile and sign in with the other account.

A clone shares the game's install files, so it takes almost no extra storage and doesn't use one of your plan's installs. Everything else is its own: game progress, account, settings and even device identity, so the game sees the clone as a different phone. Tap Rename in the same row to tell the copies apart. When you're done with one, long-press it and tap Remove clone, which deletes that clone and its progress and leaves the game and the other copies alone. Uninstalling the game itself removes its clones as well.

Games that are only on your phone

A game you got from Google Play that isn't in the VipMod store can come in too, through Add from device in the store. VipMod takes the copy already on your phone, with nothing to download, and from there you can clone it like any other game. Add from device is part of VIP 1 and up, and the Plans screen in the VipMod app lists what each plan includes.

Each copy signs in with its own Google or Facebook

Each copy in VipMod keeps its own sign-in. Long-press a tile and tap Game account to give that copy its own Google or Facebook account, separate from the one on your phone and from the other copies. Games with their own sign-in, by email or as a guest, need nothing special, since each copy simply has its own.

Games that won't clone

  • Games whose anti-cheat refuses VipMod's space close as soon as they open, in every copy. They aren't offered in the store, and a game like that added from your phone just won't run in VipMod.
  • Games that only come as a 32-bit build can't be opened in VipMod at all on a 64-bit phone, and here's why.

Three questions we hear about clones

Does the game know it's a clone? Usually not. Each clone reports its own device identity, so to the game it looks like another phone, which is also why a game that allows one account per device accepts the clone.

Can two copies run at the same time? Yes, as long as the phone has the memory, and you switch between them like two apps. On a phone with 3 GB of RAM, two 3D games at once is too much, while two light games are fine.

Can it get my account banned? Cloning on its own doesn't change the game, so the risk is the same as playing two accounts on two phones. Turning on mods in an online game is a different matter, covered in the FAQ. If you do play online with mods, the app's own advice is sound: try new mod items on an alt account in a clone first, especially on the day a game updates.
