Game crashes on the first screen in VipMod: three causes, three fixes
Crashing on the first screen is a different problem from a game that closes by itself after a few minutes, which usually comes down to battery settings or RAM (see which phones can run VipMod). Here, the game shuts before it reaches its main menu, or shows a white or black screen and then disappears. There are three main causes, and you can usually tell them apart by noticing when it goes down.
Cause 1: the game spots a virtual space and quits
Signs: it closes almost instantly, in under two seconds, or shows a message along the lines of "device not supported" or "unsafe environment". It happens on every phone, every time.
Some games, often from big publishers or competitive shooters, carry protection that recognizes VipMod's separate space and shuts the game down. There's no reliable way around it, and we don't promise one. Games like that aren't offered in the store, and when an update brings that kind of protection to a game that used to run, we stop offering it.
What to do: if it's a store game, report it so we can check whether its latest version changed. If it's a game you added from your own phone, it can't run in VipMod, but the original on your home screen still plays normally, just without a mod.
Cause 2: the mod doesn't match the game's version
Signs: the game gets past the publisher's logo, then crashes while it loads its data. It usually starts right after the game updates, or when you add a game that's already on your phone and its version differs from the store's.
VipMod won't load an old mod into a new version, on purpose. But if your copy is a different build from the store's, for example one from another download site or another country's Google Play, the mod can land in the wrong place.
What to do: long-press the game's tile, open MOD, turn the mod off and start the game again. If it gets in, the version is the problem: send us the game's version number and we'll take it from there. More in what happens when a game update breaks the mod.
Cause 3: the game needs WebView and your phone's is missing
Signs: a white screen, or a crash right when the game is about to show a web page inside it, such as a sign-in form, an event or its terms. It's common on phones where Chrome or Android System WebView has been uninstalled or disabled, and on Huawei phones without Google services.
Games use the phone's WebView to draw those screens, and without a working one they can't. What to do: install or update Android System WebView and Chrome from Google Play, turn them back on if they're disabled in your phone's app settings, then open the game again. On Android 7 to 9, you can also pick Chrome as the WebView implementation in Developer options.
Sort it out in one minute
- Turn the mod off and open the game again. Does it get in now? Then it's cause 2.
- Still closing within two seconds, with nothing on screen? That's cause 1.
- A white screen, or a crash right when an in-game page should open? That's cause 3.
What to send when you report it
Long-press the game's tile, tap Report a bug in this game, and tell us how many seconds in it closes, any message you saw, and what happened at step 1. You don't need to send logs: when a game crashes inside VipMod, the app sends us a crash report on its own, with the game's version and your phone model, unless you've turned off Send crash reports in its settings. What it can't tell us is what you saw on screen.
