What the mod adds when you play in VipMod

Unlock everything
Turn on Unlock everything in the MOD menu (the red VIP badge on the game screen). The gray, padlocked buildings on the map get their colors back and you can walk in: the Activity House on OK Street opens straight into its Dance Studio, which the game otherwise sells in the Shop. Tap + on an empty plot and paid homes like Sweet Pea Cottage show a CHOOSE button instead of Shop; pick Ready to Play and the house is built with all its furniture inside. Paid style pack clothes can also show up in the Character Creator's outfit list.
Requires VipMod VIP1. A map that's already open doesn't recolor by itself: go into any place and come back out. On one of our test devices, turning this on mid-game didn't change the Character Creator's clothes list; if paid outfits are missing, try the Restart button in the MOD menu. Homes you build stay on your map even after you turn this off; the other paid places lock again.

Play offline
On by default: blocks the internet for this game only. The game opens to the map as usual, and the places you unlocked open and play without a connection.
Post Office gifts, new events and signing in to a Toca account need the internet: turn this off in the MOD menu when you want them.

About this game
The first street I landed on had seven gray buildings with a little padlock floating above each one. It's called OK Street, and in the middle of a bright, busy map those gray blocks looked like someone had simply forgotten to color them in.
I tapped the biggest one, the Activity House, and a panel slid out listing what's inside: a Skate Park, an Art Workshop, a Dance Studio and a Rooftop Sports Court, plus 26 characters and 3 pets. Right under the name sat a green Shop button, and that was the only way in.
So I played it through VipMod with two switches from the MOD menu, Unlock everything and Play offline. Here's how the game works, where it asks for money, and what each switch changed when I tried it on two different devices.
No levels and no score, just a town to poke around in
There's nothing to win here and nothing to lose. You start on a map split into districts such as OK Street and Cloud Central, tap a building to step inside, and each one opens as a flat, side-on scene full of things you can touch.
Characters wait in a row of slots along the bottom of the screen. You drag one into the room, move them around, put whatever object is nearby in their hands and change their clothes, and nobody ever tells you that you did it wrong.
That's really the whole loop. You move from place to place, collect people and props, and make up little stories as you go, which is why it feels closer to a box of dolls than to a game with goals.
A plus sign on an empty plot turns into a house
Then there's Home Designer, the part that lets you build. Empty plots on the map carry a small plus sign, and tapping one opens a carousel of houses you can drop onto that spot.
Every house comes in two versions. Ready to Play puts it down with furniture already inside, so you can walk in and start playing right away, while Ready to Decorate gives you the same rooms empty so you can fill them yourself.
Next to it sits the Character Creator, which is where you build your own people from scratch. You pick hair, eyes, mouth and clothes from rows of round buttons, and which outfits you get to choose from depends on the style packs you own.
I like that the two parts feed each other. You make a character, build them a home on an empty plot, and then walk them into the places you've opened on the map, so the town slowly starts to feel like yours.
Post Office gifts and a calendar counting down
Beyond the map itself, a few things keep you coming back. The Post Office hands out gifts every week, there's a shelf for the things you collect, and seasonal events show up with their own decorations around town.
When I played, a little calendar at the top of the map read Ends: 12 d, and pumpkins had appeared on the street. The Google Play update notes from October 2 talk about a Halloween event, 10 gifts to claim at the Post Office and eight spooky decoration items in Home Designer that are free for everyone.
The catch is that gifts and events come from Toca Boca's side, so they only arrive while the game is online. I'll come back to that, because one of the mod's two switches is all about the internet.
Seven gray buildings on the very first street
This is where the game starts asking for money. Paid places sit on the map in gray with a padlock above them, and on OK Street alone there were seven of them, against only a few buildings in full color.
Tapping one doesn't let you peek inside. It opens a pack card instead, with a picture of the building and its floors, a short list of what you get and the green Shop button. The Activity House card even teases a skating-related secret, which is a clever way to make a kid want it.
Home Designer does the same thing. When I scrolled the house carousel without the mod, I only got the free houses plus a card that said More things available in the shop, with a big green Shop button underneath it.
The wardrobe gets its own pitch too. A popup for the Strange Masquerade Style Pack, marked New with a Learn more button, showed up while I was playing, and small banners around the game point you to things available in the shop.
On Google Play in the US, items in the game cost anywhere from $0.49 to $199.99 each. Nothing stops you from playing the free places, but the map keeps reminding you how much of it is still gray.
Two switches behind the red VIP badge
In VipMod, a red VIP badge sits on the left side of the game screen, and tapping it opens the MOD menu. There are two switches in it, Unlock everything, which needs VIP 1, and Play offline, which is free and already on when you start.
The first time I flipped Unlock everything on, the map in front of me didn't change at all. I went into a building, came back out, and every gray building on OK Street had its color back, all seven of them, with no padlocks left.
I tapped the Activity House again, and this time it took me straight into the Dance Studio instead of the Shop. On my second device I also checked Bop City, Busy Plaza, Omelette Islands and Vox Valley, and they were all in color.
Home Designer changed too. Paid houses like Sweet Pea Cottage showed a blue CHOOSE button where the Shop card used to be, and on my second device the carousel had seven paid houses with that button. I built one as Ready to Play and walked into a finished home.
I also switched it off in the middle of a session to see what would happen. After one trip in and out of a building, the paid places were gray again, and turning it back on brought the colors back. The house I'd built stayed on its plot the whole time.
The Character Creator is where my two devices disagreed. On the first one, the clothes list filled up with outfits from paid style packs. On the second, I turned the switch on mid-game and the wardrobe stayed exactly as it was, and I didn't get the chance to reopen the game and look again.
You don't need to root your phone, and the copy of the game you got from Google Play stays where it is. A few things worth knowing up front:
- After you flip Unlock everything, step into any place and back out once, because the map that's already on screen keeps its old colors until you do.
- If paid outfits don't show up in the Character Creator, the Restart button at the top of the MOD menu is worth a try, since that's the one part I couldn't confirm on both devices.
- Turning the mod off later won't take away a home you built with it, but the paid places on the map go back to gray.
Walking into the Dance Studio for the first time
Getting into a place I'd only seen as a gray block was the best part. The Dance Studio has a big boombox on a shelf, speakers on the floor, a DJ desk with glowing colored pads and disco balls hanging from the ceiling.
I dragged a handful of characters in and lined them up across the floor, a fluffy white creature in goggles, a kid in a fuzzy red hat and an older lady in big sunglasses. It's silly and sweet, and there's no timer pushing you anywhere.
The paid house I built was just as detailed. It had tall white double doors, a tiny elevator panel with buttons for floors 1 and 2, a gray sofa against a teal wall and a painting of a black cat staring back at you.
What I liked less is how often the store stays in view. Even with everything open, the green cart button sits in the corner of every scene, so the store is never more than one tap away from a curious kid.
Playing without a connection, and in English
Play offline is on as soon as you open the game, and it cuts off the internet for this game only. With it on, the game still opened to the map as usual, and I walked into paid places on both devices without the game ever closing on me.
What you give up is everything that comes from Toca Boca's servers. Post Office gifts, new events and signing in to a Toca account all need a connection, so if you're waiting on the Halloween gifts, turn the switch off for a bit and back on later.
The game follows your device's language, and every screen I saw, from the map to the Shop panels, was in English. On Google Play in the US it holds 4.4 stars from about 6.9 million ratings and has passed 100 million downloads.
It's rated Everyone, the listing shows in-app purchases but no ads, and the latest update arrived on October 2, 2026. It's also a big download, so the first install is best done on Wi-Fi.
So who should open up the whole town
If you have a kid who loves dollhouses, dress-up and making up stories, this is a calm place to do it. There's no score, no timer and nothing to fail, just rooms to fill and people to move around.
And if you've ever watched them tap a gray building, land on the Shop button and come back asking for another pack, the mod takes that moment away. Paid places and paid homes open up, the outfits followed on one of my two devices, and the weekly gifts still need a quick trip online.
