What the mod adds when you play in VipMod
-
Paid packs: get them free
Turn it on in the MOD menu, then tap buy on any pack in the game: the goods arrive immediately, no payment window opens and no transaction is made. We tried four different packs — Starter Hero Pack at 3.99 USD (gives the UR hero Merlox), 24h No Ads at 1.99 USD, the 0.99 USD daily gift and Gemstone Gift at 1.99 USD — and every one of them delivered in full.
Requires VipMod VIP2. The game checks the connection before delivering, so your phone needs to be online.
-
Gold mod
Turn it on in the MOD menu, then drag the slider (or tap the number to type an exact value) to choose how much gold to keep. Spend some and it's topped back up at once: we raised the Fire Sword from level 1 to level 3 (400 and then 800 gold), its damage went from 30 to 34 and a passive line unlocked, and the gold balance went right back to the set amount.
Requires VipMod VIP2. Gold is only half the price. Gear upgrades also need scrolls and artifact upgrades need shards, which only drop from battles and which this option can't create.
-
Diamond mod
Turn it on in the MOD menu, then drag the slider (or tap the number to type an exact value) to choose how many diamonds to keep. Spend some and they're topped back up at once: we bought 15 stamina for 150 diamonds, stamina went from 22 to 37, and the balance went right back to exactly 100,000.
Requires VipMod VIP2. Diamonds are written into the game's save file, so they stay after you turn the mod off.
-
Unlock all gear
Turn it on in the MOD menu and restart the game: every regular artifact of the four elements, fire, ice, thunder and wind, goes straight into your inventory at level 1 and fills the empty slots automatically. Even the fire, stone and lightning dragons, which normally require clearing chapters 2, 5 and 8, are ready to use.
Requires VipMod VIP2. The artifact list is written into the game's save file, so it stays after you turn the mod off. Turn on "Unlock all 9 gear slots" as well to take all 9 into battle.
-
Damage multiplier
Open the floating MOD menu in the game, turn on "Damage multiplier" and drag the slider to ×2, ×5, ×20 or ×100. Changing the level takes effect immediately mid-battle, no restart needed; drag it back to "Off" to restore the original damage.
Requires VipMod VIP1. By the game's design, BOSS monsters always take exactly 1 damage per hit, and no multiplier changes that.
-
Invincible wall
Turn it on in the MOD menu and monsters and their projectiles no longer take HP off the wall. We played through two full chapters, 15 waves and over 300 monsters each, and the wall stayed at 1000 HP.
Requires VipMod VIP1. After turning the switch off, restart the game for the wall to take damage again.
-
Battle speed
Turn it on in the MOD menu and slide to ×2, ×3 or ×5. The whole battle runs faster: monsters walk faster, gear attacks faster, waves go by faster. The multiplier is based on the game's standard speed, so ×2 really is twice as fast.
The ×1/×2 shown on screen is the game's own fast-forward button; it doesn't change with this option.
-
Unlock all backpack slots in battle
Turn it on in the MOD menu and every backpack slot is open from the very first wave, all 42 instead of the 12 you get without the mod, so you don't have to watch videos to open more room for gear.
Requires VipMod VIP1. Applies from the next time the backpack opens during a battle.
-
Unlock all 9 gear slots
Turn it on in the MOD menu, then go to Artifacts → Equip: all 9 slots for taking artifacts into battle are open, with no padlocks and no more lines demanding you clear chapters 6, 10 and 13. We re-tested on Sep 3 with only chapter 1 cleared: the full 3×3 grid was there and all 9 slots had artifacts fitted.
Requires VipMod VIP1. The unlocked slots are written into the game's save file, so they stay after you turn the mod off. A test in August on a different phone didn't work; re-tested on the new mod version it does, so if you still see padlocks, restart the game once.
-
Remove ads
Turn it on in the MOD menu. Every spot where you'd have to watch a video to get a reward pays out instantly with no ad: the "Claim all" button on the perk selection panel, the "Claim ×2" button on the chapter-end screen, the extra-coins button mid-battle. Just tap the watch-video buttons as usual.
Requires VipMod VIP1. This removes the ads, not the game's usage limits: "Claim all" can still only be used 3 times per battle.
-
Starting coins per battle
Turn it on in the MOD menu, then drag the slider (or tap the number to type an exact value) to choose how many silver coins you start each battle with. We set 500 and entered the battle with exactly 500, whereas the game only gives you 15 — and a single refresh of the gear belt already costs exactly 15.
Requires VipMod VIP1. The amount applies when a battle starts, so after changing it you'll only see it in your next battle.
-
Gear tier on pickup
Turn it on in the MOD menu and pick Tier 1 to Tier 4: every new piece of gear that appears on the belt comes straight at that tier instead of a random one. Set Tier 4 and all four items on offer show up in the top-tier frame. Slide back to "Default" to restore the game's random odds.
Requires VipMod VIP1. Setting "Default" restores the game's random drop odds.
-
Block network (faster startup)
This option has been removed from the MOD menu; you won't see it any more.
REMOVED from the mod package on Sep 3, 2026. This game must reach its server at startup: we cut the network for real at the system level and opened the game, and the loading screen stopped at the same network error as with this option on. The problem lies in the game, not the mod, so it can't be patched, and keeping a switch that breaks the game when turned on would do more harm than good.

About this game
We opened Fluffy Backpack: Merge Defense with very low expectations, a light merge game to kill time, and for the first ten minutes it really was that pleasant. The tutorial hands you three weapons and tells you to drag them into the backpack grid, and your attack stat jumps from 0 to 449 after just three drags.
Then the game invites you to tap the refresh button on the gear belt to swap in a new batch, and that's when everything stalls. You enter a battle with exactly 15 silver coins, and one refresh costs exactly 15 silver coins, so after a single tap your wallet is at 0 and the button turns red. The only thing still lit at the bottom of the screen is a green button with a video play triangle, offering 30 coins with three uses left.
Pack your backpack, then sit back while it fights for you
A chapter is split into 15 waves of monsters, and between waves the game pauses and opens the backpack for you to arrange. The grid is 6 columns by 7 rows, but at the start only 12 slots are lit; the rest are dark and have to be opened gradually with coins or by watching a video.
Gear drops onto a conveyor belt at the bottom of the screen, and each item has its own shape. A bow fits neatly into two vertical slots, a dart takes just one, and a staff stretches across three. You drag them onto the grid so they fit, and if you drop two identical items on top of each other, they merge into a higher-tier one.
Press the battle button and your part is done. Monsters march in a line from the top of the screen and stop at a spiked fence with 1000 HP, while all the gear in your backpack fires on its own, each item at its own rhythm. You watch, read the damage numbers popping over the monsters' heads and wait for the next round of arranging.
Every few waves the game slips in a panel of three cards so you can pick one stacking perk for the whole battle, ranked in four colors: green, blue, purple and gold. This part is pure roguelite and the most enjoyable bit of the game, but it's also where the second watch-a-video button is planted.
Outside battle: a long road and a 25-point meat bar
Outside battle there's a map shaped like a road running up the screen. Each chapter is a bubble, and you climb up from Chapter 1. Each chapter awards three stars at three milestones, passing wave 5, passing wave 15 and clearing it, and you need enough stars before the next chapter will open.
At the bottom are five tabs, Shop, Heroes, Battle, Artifacts and Castle, but when you start, four of the five are padlocked. We only unlocked Heroes and Artifacts after clearing Chapter 1, and even at Chapter 3 the Shop and Castle were still nowhere to be seen.
Heroes is where you equip your character and socket gems into the slots on their gear. Artifacts is where you upgrade the weapons that will show up in your backpack during fights. Two currencies run side by side here: gold for most upgrades, diamonds for the pricier things.
And in the top corner sits the most important bar of all: a piece of meat with the number 25 of 25. Every chapter run costs exactly 5 points, which means you get five runs, and each point takes a full 10 minutes to come back.
And this is where the game starts holding out its hand
Simple division shows the problem right away. Those five runs are gone in about an hour if you play straight through, while refilling the meat bar takes over four hours of waiting.
In battle, every door leads to the same button. Want more coins to refresh the gear belt? Watch a video, three times at most. Want more backpack slots? Watch a video. Want to take all three perk cards instead of one? Another video, again three times. Some batches have that triangle button on all four items, meaning every single one of them costs you an ad.
After a battle, the victory screen pours out 200 gold and a handful of shards, and right next to the normal claim button is a double-claim button with a video attached. As soon as we cleared the first chapter, the game opened a window selling the Starter Hero Pack, $3.99 for a UR-grade hero.
On the left edge of the map there's even a permanent column of shop buttons. The 24-hour ad removal pack costs $1.99, so you buy one quiet day and then buy another the next. The permanent version is $7.99, and the $11.99 one adds double battle speed and 500 diamonds; in other words, even the fast-forward button in battle is something for sale.
The mod removes exactly those buttons
Our Fluffy Backpack mod adds a red floating MOD button in the left corner of the screen; tap it for a panel of switches. Every switch starts off. Ad removal is a VIP 1 option like most of the others, so turn it on in the MOD menu, along with whichever of the rest you want.
We tried the take-all button on the perk panel and all three cards went straight into the bag without a single video playing. Tapping the double-claim button at the end of a chapter took the reward from 300 to 600 gold and the shards from 7 to 18, again with no ad in sight. Both still worked exactly the same with the phone's network switched off completely.
The option most worth paying for is the paid-pack one. Turn it on and tap buy on that very $3.99 pack. The game opens no payment window and hands over the UR hero Merlox plus ten silver keys, and the first day's gift milestone is marked as claimed.
On the money side, we set gold to one million and diamonds to nearly five million, and the numbers showed up in the top bar almost instantly. More importantly, they can really be spent. Upgrading the hero's gear cost 100 gold and upgrading the Firebird artifact cost 400, and both times the balance returned to the set amount within about half a second.
The remaining switches aim straight at the bottlenecks described above. Starting coins per battle lets you begin with 500 coins instead of 15, and Unlock all backpack slots lights up all 42 slots from wave one. Gear tier on pickup forces every item that appears to tier 4. And Invincible wall does what the name says: we played two whole chapters against more than 600 monsters and the fence's HP bar never moved from 1000.
Two options that gave us trouble, and where they stand now
In our first round of tests, Unlock all 9 gear slots didn't work. We turned it on, restarted the game and went to the artifact-fitting screen, and the last three slots were still locked, with text telling us to clear chapters 6, 10 and 13. A second try was the same, so it was a real bug. We re-tested on Sep 3 with the newer mod version and it now works: all nine slots were open and fitted with artifacts with only chapter 1 cleared. If you still see padlocks, restart the game once.
The network block option was a much bigger problem. This game refuses to start until it has reached its server, so with that switch on, the loading screen stopped at an error dialog and you couldn't get in even with a signal. Turning it off fixed the next launch as if nothing had happened. Since the flaw is in the game itself and can't be patched, we removed that switch from the mod on Sep 3, 2026, so you won't see it any more.
There's one more limit to know about so your expectations are right. Gold and diamonds don't buy everything: gear upgrades also need scrolls and artifact upgrades need shards, and both only drop from battles. We had a million gold in hand and still got stuck at 65 of 150 shards, so the game still makes you play.
Easy on the eyes, light on things to do
Under Settings there's a language button with a long list to pick from, and switching takes effect immediately, without a restart.
The visuals are pleasant: hand-drawn cartoon art with round, chubby monsters and fairly smooth merge effects. The biggest weakness isn't the graphics but the fact that battles give you nothing to do except watch. Take away the backpack-arranging moments and what's left is rather monotonous.
So who should play it
Do you like shape-based inventory packing like Backpack Battles, but want something lighter you can open while waiting for someone? Fluffy Backpack is a sensible choice. On Google Play it has 4.5 stars from more than 4,200 ratings and over 100,000 downloads; not huge numbers, but enough to say it isn't some unknown.
And if you downloaded it before and quit halfway, chances are the reason wasn't the gameplay. Most people who bother to write a review stop at the ads, and having really played it, we think they're right. The mod here removes almost all of those annoying buttons, and with no need to pay $1.99 a day for one quiet evening, the game feels completely different.
